Sr. Firmware Integration and Validation Engineer- Cloud HW

The Microsoft Silicon Engineering Solutions and Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is responsible for developing and delivering the hardware and firmware that is responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide.

We are seeking a talented firmware integration and validation engineer who is passionate about delivering highly quality server firmware recipe for Microsoft Azure Cloud Server platforms.

The candidate would contribute to the Microsoft cloud server firmware recipe validation and debug, implement and improve automation test framework, define the validation strategy, and collaborate closely with program management, hardware engineers, firmware engineer, manufacturing, cloud service teams and external ODM/OEM partners.

Responsibilities

• Define and improve the automation test framework and HW infrastructure.
• Create test cases and develop automations for firmware features validation and maintain the test case libraries.
• Debug , analyze issue root causes and implement preventive actions from a validation point of view.
• Work effectively in an Agile environment following and practicing Scrum processes.

Qualifications

• S./M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent additional industry experience
• 8+ years of firmware development, validation, or system engineering
• Proven experience and skills in scripting language such as Python, PowerShell
• Excellent English written and oral communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Product cycle experience overseeing projects from product planning to product shipping and sustain ing
• Strong server firmware debugging skills
• Development and validation experience on BIOS/BMC/Rack Manager FW is a strong plus
• Enthusiastic and self-driven for quality and engineering excellence
