Job Description

How you will contribute and lead:

  • Support customers in new product developments, including formulation with probiotics and other health ingredients, plan application trials, stability testing as needed for new launches. Speed up commercialization of new products.
  • Strengthen the capabilities in development of Health Ingredients application and tailor-made finished formats for mainly China and support Customers other parts of AP customers.
  • Strengthen local capability and knowledge around probiotics and other health ingredients, to drive customers interest and growth of the opportunity pipeline.
  • Communicate science to customers, IFF partners and consumers to build knowledge and interest in probiotics, to accelerate growth of the business.
  • Providing the Science Base for Formulation and experimental design.
  • Product Stability Study Related lab work.
  • Plan and support new product developments, mainly DS products (capsules, sticks and tablets) but also F&B formats, including application tests, both stability and sensory testing, together with team members of AP application team. 
  • Provide technical support to accelerate growth and defend existing business with key customers.
  • Provide high quality of technical service and solutions to customers and ensure that projects are progressing as planned.
  • Support contract manufacturers using Health Ingredients and our solution for customers product with Lab Calibration and test protocol set up.
  • Following company policy, operation & management rules to conduct day to day work. 
Job Requirements

How you will need to be successful:

  • Extensive experience in food, dietary supplement and microbiology.  At least 5 years working experience in R&D, application of probiotics and/or lactic acid bacteria in food and/or DS industry.
  • Good communication skills to effectively drive progress of technical, regulatory and sales related projects, in collaboration with stake holders in the commercial, R&D and regulatory organizations.
  • Ability to work closely with application scientists at other parts of AP, in planning of TSR’s and other application work conducted in labs of Shanghai
  • Be able to work independently on projects and project management.
  • Strong report & presentation skills
  • Good in English both in written and oral.
  • Ability to travel in the AP region up to 40%.
  • Minimum master's degree in microbiology, Food Science or Food Engineering.
