RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze, determine, and specify the Telecom requirements and considerations applicable to the project.
  • Define specifications for suitable Telecom equipment.
  • Review and analyze vendors' offers, taking action on any discrepancies with project specifications or propositions not aligned with our RFQ.
  • Define test protocols/procedures and attend FAT at supplier locations.
  • Provide technical support, leadership, and guidance to groups of engineers and technicians on Telecom issues.
  • Stay updated on Certification Authorities (ABS) requirements related to telecoms.
  • Calculate system power consumption, define cable schedules, and interconnection diagrams.
  • Offer technical support to Services Sales group and Proposal/Estimating Dept.
  • Provide formal responses for troubleshooting and technical recommendations from clients, contractors, and classification societies upon request.
  • Assist TPMs (Technical Project Managers) in defining all Telecom activities for their projects.
  • Ensure the project team understands client specifications, contractual requirements, and relevant codes and standards for Telecom activities.
  • Identify and track design changes, as well as assisting TPMs in preparing variation order proposals.
  • Recommend Telecom inspection requirements on projects.
  • Monitor and review internal drawings, specifications, and documentation related to Telecom.
  • Participate in internal departmental/project meetings focusing on Telecom systems and equipment.
  • Contribute to material receiving processes outlined in the System Responsibility Listing.
  • Coordinate with ABS as per the System Responsibility Listing.
  • Review all material certifications and VDBs as specified in the System Responsibility Listing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 15 years of Oil & Gas experience in Telecoms Engineering, Construction, or Project Management, with 5 years in petrochemicals, particularly FPSO/FSO production installations. Previous experience in a similar role is necessary.
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in other relevant languages is also beneficial.
  • 5 years of proven supervisory experience.
  • Thorough practical knowledge of Permit to Work procedures.
  • Completion of Mandatory CompEx Hazardous Areas IEC & 17 training with a valid certificate.
