This position requires an employee to be present on-site full-time.

The Role

As a Platform - DevQA - Software Test Engineer, you will have a vital role in ensuring the quality and dependability of software systems for GM's platforms. You will focus on software testing, assessing functionalities of SOC architecture low-level operating systems. Collaboration with diverse teams, including software developers, system engineers, and product managers, to establish test strategies, create test plans, and conduct test cases will be essential. Your daily tasks will involve:

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with product managers to grasp feature requirements and convert them into test cases with metrics for test outcomes.
  • Offer guidance for BSP/HIWO packages integration into DPLY for release scheduling.
  • Lead weekly planning/coordination meetings to synchronize content and timing of each new package.
  • Record test results, manage defects, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Engage in design and test result reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Review test cases and data with partners, safety, and validation teams.

Identify BSW components testing requirements.

Understanding of various software development methodologies like Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile. Proficient in various test types necessary for a project based on business and software requirements review. Demonstrated & advanced proficiency in test case management using HP ALM or Microsoft TFS. Profound experience in compiling, analyzing, and communicating software test metrics and reports. Advanced skills in leading project teams through software quality activities and resolving uncertainties identified from reviewing business and software requirements.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Master's or PhD's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of firmware/software development background.
  • Experience in model-based developments and HIL environment.
  • SW Testing tool proficiency in CANoe, CANalyzer, and Lauterbach Trace32.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies and SAFe framework.
  • Familiarity with test case management tools and defect tracking systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal in Mandarin and English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • CAPL, Perl, and Python test script development for automation testing.
  • Knowledge of automotive safety standards and functional safety requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in UDS Serial Data Communication testing and CAN tools.
  • Understanding of BSW Modules functionalities and architecture, low-level systems testing.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)​​

  • ISTQB or similar software testing certifications.
  • Understanding of SOC basic software architecture.
  • Knowledge of JIRA, JAMA, or equivalent project management tools.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience in Active Safety feature validation.
  • Expertise in vehicle performance integration.
  • DFSS Certification.
