Corning's Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays ("LCDs") that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Position Description

  • Lead process development and engineering improvement to meet business objectives.
  • Drive problem solving efforts. Coordinate a team to tackle attribute opportunities thru fundamental understanding.
  • Melting process optimization portfolio – Technical analysis of melting process application of analytical results to improve processes capability.
  • Interface between Technology delivery/ design group and Plant engineering for trials of new materials, process and technologies into manufacturing. Be able to make technical recommendation to design.
  • Develop process setup for new platforms and legacy platforms to drive baseline improvement. Design and coordinate experiments with manufacturing team.
  • Lead and support manufacturing capital expansions, startups and equipment repair worldwide as required.
  • Convert technical and fundamental learnings into operational procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership for critical attribute projects if one's experience and capability level is higher.

Education & Experience

  • BS degree or above - major in chemical engineering or science
  • 3 years or above related experience in chemical engineering industry or development site.
  • 8 years of above related experience would be considered for leader role.
  • Work on improvement project and process development experience

Required Skills

Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of thermal process
  • Experiment design and execution
  • Methodology – Six Sigma, DMAIC, Project Skills and so on
  • Problem solving and decision making.
  • Data analysis experience – Statistical knowledge, data science tool kit is a plus.

Desired Skills

  • Mature communication skills and team leadership
  • Hands-on experience in fab is a plus.
  • Data science tool kit

Soft Skills

  • Good communication and coordination skills in Chinese and English
  • Positive attitude and effective interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills
  • Keen for challenging goals and able to work under high pressure
  • High commitment to assignments and result oriented
