Job Overview

At Cummins Inc., we are seeking a skilled technician to perform essential tasks that support our manufacturing operations. This role involves selecting and utilizing the right tools, machinery, and specialized equipment while working with minimal supervision. A strong understanding of safety protocols related to electricity and industrial equipment is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE):

  • Halt operations and report any significant injury hazards immediately.
  • Document any work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
  • Adhere to HSE standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Foster a culture of safety by looking out for colleagues.
  • Address hazards within your control and capabilities.
  • Understand the environmental impact of your work and strive to minimize it.
  • Participate in HSE training programs.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship.
  • Assist in analyzing equipment uptime and downtime failures.
  • Execute tasks according to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and specifications.
  • Provide insights into the Preventive Maintenance system.
  • Follow all process documentation and quality procedures.
  • Identify issues to mitigate cost and quality risks.
  • Conduct quality inspections as necessary.

Delivery:

  • Carry out skilled activities as per defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Exhibit a high level of proficiency in core work skills.
  • Repair and maintain equipment effectively.
  • Document preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, including routine housekeeping.
  • Perform additional duties as required to achieve business objectives.

Team Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with team members and support teams.
  • Engage in training and personal development aligned with business needs.
  • Actively participate in local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and process efficiency.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Licensing may be required for compliance with regulations.
  • Intermediate level knowledge through education, training, or work experience.
  • Technical secondary education in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • Over 3 years of CNC operation experience and 2 years in setup.
  • Strong team spirit and willingness to collaborate towards common goals.
