Microbiologist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist to join our team at Smith+Nephew. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of microbiological testing and validation.

• Microbiological Testing: Perform routine micro testing, including bioburden, sterility testing, and deliver reports in a timely manner.
• Environmental Monitoring: Conduct CA, PW, and environmental monitoring, as well as other processes including culture/media preparation.
• Data Review and Analysis: Review data obtained for compliance to specifications and report abnormalities.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot microbiological OOS occurrences and support change controls, CAPAs, and investigations.
• Method Validation and Equipment Qualification: Plan, write, perform, and follow method validation, equipment qualification, cleaning validation, and sterilization validation protocols/reports.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform required calibration/maintenance on microbiological equipment.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure safe working practices in accordance with cGMP/HSE guidelines at all times.
• Reporting and Analysis: Review data and perform data trend analysis, complete related annual summary reports.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in microbiology, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
