Principal Mechanical Engineer

We're seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Suzhou, supporting our Outdoor Wireless Network (OWN) business segment. This role will be responsible for evaluating technical requirements of new products and developing specifications from a mechanical aspect.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate technical requirements of new products and develop specifications from a mechanical aspect.
  2. Conduct feasibility studies and concept development based on product line input.
  3. Develop detailed designs and models, working with other team members to bring concepts to life.
  4. Create Bills of Materials (BOMs), release drawings, and engage in technical discussions with vendors.
  5. Provide technical support to pilot and operation lines, solving problems from a design perspective.
  6. Support root cause analysis for test failures.
  7. Act as a key contributor within project teams, directing or coordinating work with drafters, technicians, and other non-exempt personnel.
  8. Lead new technology studies and technical problem-solving initiatives.

Requirements:

  1. A completed bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required; a master's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
  2. 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, with 5+ years in base station antenna design.
  3. Experience in sheet metal, plastic injection molding, die casting, and finish on metal parts.
  4. Good understanding and handling of tolerance analysis and GD&T.
  5. Design experience in cavity PSA in base station antennas is a plus.
  6. Experience in fastener and torque analysis is a plus.
  7. Good command of written and spoken English.
  8. Proven experience in analysis and design of structural design.
  9. Experience in developing whole products from concept to sold product.
  10. Familiarity with structure simulation software, such as ANSYS Workbench or SolidWorks Simulation.
  11. Excellent problem-solving, fast learning, team play, and interpersonal communication abilities.
