About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CAPEX Category Manager to join our team at Hitachi Energy (China) Ltd. as part of our High Voltage Products organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the Sourcing Strategy for industrial CAPEX, ensuring the best price, on-time delivery, and quality through supply base management, negotiations, and contract management.
  • Lead and own the Category to meet or exceed SCM KPIs, including Cost Reduction, Cost Avoidance, Payment Terms, On Time Delivery, and Spend with Qualified Suppliers.
  • Define the Global Sourcing Strategy for the category and drive its execution through supplier selection, evaluation, classification, and de-sourcing processes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Global Product Group Managers, Hubs, and Technology Centers, gathering information on volumes, specifications, suppliers, prices, and consumption forecasts.
  • Negotiate and conclude regional/global contracts, leveraging global/regional volumes and negotiations tactics to maximize benefits to Hitachi Energy.
  • Coordinate technical development activities to reduce costs, quality risks, and improve the supply chain, involving experts internally and with suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or supply chain, with CIPS or ISM CPSM certification a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in Category Management or Strategic Sourcing in multinational companies.
  • Experience in leading technical negotiations through Should Costing models.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the capability to transform data into short and long-term plans.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to High Voltage Products and understanding of commodities impact on final cost.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on team building and coaching.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 25%.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English, with other languages a plus.
