Job Description

Job Title: Process Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a Process Specialist to join our team at Corning. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing process, facility, and equipment upgrades to improve machine reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and manage process, facility, and equipment upgrades to improve machine reliability.
  • Support daily operations and work with project teams to select, purchase, install, and start new equipment.
  • Establish goals and objectives in conjunction with Group Leaders and manage engineering activities to achieve these objectives.
  • Support operations personnel with troubleshooting and provide training as needed.
  • Provide project membership for facility processes, including feasibility studies, planning, and complete documentation.
  • Support developments in equipment that can improve or enhance current process capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other engineering-related fields.
  • 2 years' work experience preferred.
  • Good project management skills, logical thinking, and good English comprehension.
  • Ability to utilize computer programs and statistical skills for data analysis and modeling.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional team members.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other engineering-related fields. 2 years' work experience preferred.

Desired Skills: Project management skills, understanding of equipment mechanical and control, experience in implementing DMAIC methodology or leading 6-sigma projects.

Soft Skills: Strong ownership of achieving plant goals, sense of urgency and creativity to handle project issues, flexibility to adapt to changing environments, cross-cultural sensitivity, customer focus, communication skills, and positive working attitude in teams.
