Position Overview

Are you a chemical engineer with 2-3 years of experience in the energy or chemical sectors, particularly in consulting, engineering, or commercial roles? We are seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst to join our consulting team.

This role will involve collaboration across NexantECA, focusing on both individual client projects and our subscription and reporting programs. Your work will encompass technology assessments, economic evaluations, and market analyses across a diverse array of energy and chemical industries, including hydrocarbon fuels, petrochemicals, polymers, C1 chemicals, bio-renewables, and other specialized topics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis, producing reports on the energy and chemical sectors while contributing to client-specific reports and subscription services.
  • Investigate technological, market, financial, environmental, and commercial factors affecting the energy and chemical industries.
  • Engage in primary market research with key industry stakeholders to identify significant market and technical trends.
  • Utilize Excel and NexantECA databases to perform in-depth industry analysis.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports that provide insights into key trends and developments.
  • Assist team members in various client engagement activities, including webinars and presentations.
  • Adhere to internal quality standards while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Deliver exceptional research, analysis, and report writing, along with effective verbal presentations of findings.
  • Enhance personal industry knowledge and skills in market analysis, supporting team efforts to promote new services and reports.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant discipline such as chemical engineering, chemistry, engineering, or economics.
  • Advanced degrees (master's, PhD) are preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials are essential.

Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in industry analysis, consulting, research, or the process industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with databases is advantageous.
  • Exceptional report writing and presentation skills.
  • Solid research capabilities.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.
