About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Product Development Specialist to join our team at Molex. This role will be responsible for developing new products and improving existing ones, with a focus on electrical engineering.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop NPI projects from concept to launch, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Provide commercialization project engineering support, including design verification and validation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
  • Serve as a technical expert for other design centers, providing guidance on product development and quality control.
  • Lead department operation and improvement activities, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review and interpret customer design requirements, working closely with marketing, sales, and customers to ensure understanding.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review feasibility assessments, identify exceptions, and gain approval for designs.
  • Conduct technical discussions with customers to discuss design feasibility and primary test plans.
  • Perform design verification activities, including tolerance analysis, FEA, SLA, and patent investigations.
  • Release ok-to-tool drawings and models for tooling design and development.
  • Establish test plans for product reliability testing and review with reliability lab teams.
  • Lead FOT part reviews and support tooling engineers in disposing First Article inspection reports.
  • Approve or disapprove product deviation requests, applying problem-solving skills using E8D.
  • Provide training to customers and Molex engineering personnel on assigned topics.
  • Support product modifications and extensions, as well as manufacturing process improvements.
  • Respond to customer complaints on design-related issues.

Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
  • Good knowledge of product design processes and principles.
  • At least 1 year of connector design experience and application.
  • A professional attitude towards work and willingness to assume full responsibility for projects or tasks assigned.
  • Demonstrated good teamwork skills for overall success.
  • CAD software proficiency for drafting and modeling.
  • Knowledge of connector design and manufacturing technologies.
  • Understanding of connector materials – resin and metal.
  • Design problem-solving skills – 8D, DFMEA, Tolerance Analysis.
