Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Shipbuilding Specialist to join our team at DNV. As a key member of our North China operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects and delivering exceptional services to our clients.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in naval architecture, marine engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the maritime industry. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this position, as well as empathy and problem-solving abilities to effectively interact with clients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform new building surveys on ships according to rules and regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers and peers to ensure project execution meets client expectations
  • Communicate proactively with shipyards and owner representatives to resolve any issues that may arise
  • Certify and verify materials and components under class and non-class related systems and processes
  • Manage customer relationships and interact with colleagues worldwide to address client needs
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing guidance on regulatory matters and supporting their business growth
  • Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to company policies and procedures

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the maritime industry, preferably in design office, shipyard, or technical superintendent roles
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in English
  • Empathy and problem-solving mindset towards clients
  • Team player with independent, self-organized abilities and a positive attitude
