This position serves as an excellent foundation for a career with Amazon.

Career Opportunity

The Vendor Relations Specialist role encompasses two primary functions (Product Setup Service & Premium Catalogue Service), aimed at delivering top-tier, scalable solutions that assist vendors in expanding their selection and enhancing the quality of their content and metadata on the Amazon platform.

We are looking for a high-performing Vendor Relations Specialist to ensure the effective operation of the JP program.

The ideal candidate will significantly contribute to our overarching vision, addressing business needs while maintaining the integrity of the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Building and nurturing relationships with external business partners, understanding their fundamental goals, drivers, and metrics.
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of vendor issues, collecting, interpreting, and disseminating data to facilitate informed business decisions.
  • Assisting in the onboarding process for new vendors, setting clear expectations, and leading discussions with a structured agenda.
  • Serving as the primary contact and trainer for both offshore team members and local teams, identifying issues and ensuring they are documented and resolved promptly and professionally.
  • Proactively identifying, participating in, and delivering small-scale local projects. You will define clear objectives and timelines, effectively managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Supporting projects with future JP rollout considerations in mind.
  • Auditing and enhancing the quality and efficiency of service processes, analyzing and addressing root causes.
  • Acting as a center of excellence, engaging in catalogue pilots and testing new initiatives.
  • Offering value-added recommendations to improve systems and programs.
  • Operating with a high degree of autonomy, frugality, and discretion, efficiently prioritizing tasks and exercising sound judgment. You will help identify and assess potential risks and contribute to determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Effectively communicating and collaborating with JP peers and management, sharing knowledge with others both verbally and in writing, within and outside your team.
  • Responding promptly and accurately to inquiries from both customers and internal business partners, including leadership teams, and escalating issues as necessary.
Basic Qualifications
Essential Skills:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized business school.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in Japanese, demonstrating professional integrity and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and work styles.
  • Confidence in managing multiple customer relationships; a strong service orientation and the ability to leverage metrics to identify focus areas. You must be adept at understanding and interpreting business objectives, considering the needs of both Amazon and external partners.
  • Adaptability, with the ability to think critically, make informed decisions, manage competing projects, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and solid analytical skills to evaluate and resolve process ambiguities, including monitoring and enhancing performance against KPIs.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, demonstrating passion and initiative, even beyond your immediate responsibilities. You should be capable of proposing innovative solutions and taking ownership of issues until resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Content Management Systems, with the ability to quickly learn and utilize new tools and systems.
