Job Summary

As a Microbiologist at Smith+Nephew, you will be responsible for performing routine micro testing, including bioburden and sterility tests, and delivering reports in a timely manner. You will also perform compressed air, purified water, and environmental monitoring, as well as culture/media preparation and other daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review data for compliance to specifications and report abnormalities
  • Troubleshoot microbiological OOS occurrences and support change controls, CAPAs, and investigations
  • Plan, write, perform, and follow method validation, equipment qualification, cleaning validation, and sterilization validation protocols/reports
  • Perform required calibration/maintenance on microbiological equipment
  • Ensure safe working in accordance with cGMP/HSE guidelines at all times
  • Review data and perform data trend analysis, complete related annual summary reports
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor
