Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our team in the Economics Department. This role will play a critical part in supporting AIIB's policy-based lending initiatives focused on climate change commitments of our member countries.
- Design and implement economic policies, institutions, and frameworks aimed at advancing national climate plans and promoting investment in related infrastructure.
- Engage with country authorities in policy dialogues and assess macroeconomic and budget frameworks for policy-based lending.
- Conduct research and analysis to support the development of climate-focused policy measures and parameters for AIIB's policy-based financing.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A postgraduate degree in economics (PhD preferred) and minimum 10 years of relevant experience in international organizations, investment banks, think-tanks, government agencies, or financial institutions.
- Strong expertise and experience in climate change relevant disciplines, such as energy economics, environment economics, sustainable development, climate finance, transition planning, business environment, and green investment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English, as well as strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
