CNC Production Lead

This is a challenging role that requires strong hands-on ability and on-site shift supervisory experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of CNC machinists, ensuring production efficiency, safety, and quality compliance with Straumann product requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Organize daily production and achieve production KPIs, including OEE, OTD, and quality control.
- Quickly respond to problems on the shop floor and support relevant departments in problem-solving.
- Manage direct labor to ensure their work complies with SOPs and WIs.
- Support cross-functional tasks and implement continuous improvements in the shop floor.
- Inspect parts according to quality requirements and take corrective action if necessary.
- Cooperate and communicate with QC, maintenance, secondary, EHS, and other relevant departments.
- Save production data, management directions, and other statistical data in operation manuals.
- Take on other tasks assigned by plant management.
- Comply with company EHS policies, procedures, and working instructions.
- Take overall responsibility for the safety of the shift team and coordinate to solve EHS issues.
- Organize and participate in safety activities, such as safety talks and inspections.
- Educate employees on job safety and mentor fresh operators.
- Routinely inspect the workplace for potential hazards and eliminate them.
- Practice good housekeeping and keep the workplace clean.
- Assist the workshop supervisor in improving the workshop management system and regulations.
- Manage employee time and attendance.
- Recommend measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Recommend personnel actions, such as hiring, promotions, and discipline, and conduct regular performance reviews for direct employees.
- Vocational school or above education in CNC machining or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machining with Swiss-style lathe and at least 2 years of shift production management experience.
- Ability to read English language preferred.
- Work experience in the same industry preferred.
- Attention to fine detail and high quality.
- Proficiency in using office software, such as Excel and Word.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to accept new things quickly and have a strong learning ability.
General office environment and manufacturing environment. May be exposed to hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools. May require moderate lifting. Requires manual dexterity and the ability to manipulate small objects.
