We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Automation Equipment to join our team at Kimball Electronics.
About the Role:
- Design and develop mechanical systems for non-standard automation equipment and modules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Ensure project schedules and quality standards are met through meticulous planning and execution.
- Select standard parts and detail design according to project needs.
- Participate in project meetings, including kick-off, DFM, and weekly meetings.
- Report progress to the project manager on a weekly basis.
- Communicate complex mechanical drawings and system functionality to technicians before assembly.
- Support the assembly department during commissioning, installation, and after-sales service.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical design or automation, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with expertise in automation equipment.
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and office automation software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
