We are seeking a Key Performance Engineer for Process Optimization to join our team at Corning. This role is a critical part of our operations, responsible for ensuring the highest quality products while maintaining efficiency and productivity.
Job DescriptionThe Key Performance Engineer for Process Optimization will be responsible for establishing and sustaining daily performance, troubleshooting issues, and improving inspection equipment and control systems. This includes:
- Designing, modifying, and recommending equipment to meet or exceed requirements
- Troubleshooting material, process, and equipment issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions
- Leading performance improvement projects to achieve target goals, including performance tracking, routine reporting, and analysis
- Training operators on new equipment and processes
- Implementing and documenting material, process, and/or equipment changes
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Requirements and QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess:
- Experience with inspection systems, image processing, and defect detection/categorization
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot process issues
- Understanding of process control concepts and ability to analyze data
- Proficiency in software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Python, and C#
- Quality concept and tool knowledge, as well as report and presentation skills
Prior experience in project management, implementing DMAIC methodology, and leading 6-sigma projects would be an asset. Additionally, understanding of mechanical and control systems, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin), would be beneficial.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Corning offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
