We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineering to join our team at Western Digital. As a key member of our supplier quality engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of electrical connectors used in our products.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and coordinate with electrical connector suppliers to ensure compliance with Western Digital's quality and reliability requirements.
- Qualify and validate electrical connectors for use in Western Digital products, ensuring they meet all necessary standards and specifications.
- Monitor and control critical to function parameters via Statistical Process Control (SPC) to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, procurement, and factory, to ensure successful program execution with multiple suppliers.
- Conduct supplier quality system and process assessments and score for periodic business reviews.
- Review and disposition nonconforming connector materials through Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
- Bachelor's degree or above in a related field, such as engineering, mechanical, electrical, material science, or physics.
- 3-7 years of working experience with electrical connectors, including hands-on experience in connector processes, test, and quality.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical testing, measurement, and inspection methods to evaluate performance, quality, and reliability.
- Experience with ISO/Industry requirements for commercial and automotive fields, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA, VDA 6.0, MSA, SPC, and DOE.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to investigate complex problems, gather relevant data, and define appropriate analysis to identify root cause.
- Self-motivated with ability to effectively multi-task and work independently.
