We are seeking a seasoned Head of English to join our esteemed faculty at eChinaCareers, an international high school based in Guangdong province. This is a full-time position starting immediately.

About the School

Located in Foshan's Shunde district, our school provides comprehensive education for K-12 students, encompassing primary, middle and high school divisions. With over 4,800 students and 700 faculty members, including approximately 100 international teachers, we are the first in China to offer a continuum of IB PYP, MYP and DP programs, as well as IGCSE, A-Level and AP curriculum.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership skills and experience in managing English language instruction. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing effective English teaching plans, ensuring high-quality instruction and student achievement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing English curriculum aligned with school standards and student needs
  • Preparing lesson plans, teaching materials, and delivering instruction in accordance with established teaching schedules
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress, identifying areas of need, and providing targeted support
  • Collaborating with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and promote academic excellence
  • Administering regular assessments and evaluations to measure student learning and progress
  • Fostering positive relationships with parents through regular communication and feedback

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A doctoral degree in English or Education
  • At least two years of experience teaching English in an international setting
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams of English teachers
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design and implementation, particularly in international settings
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
