Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Finishing Control Engineer to join our team at Corning. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting online equipment to meet manufacturing performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Control and Optimization: Demonstrate fundamental knowledge and provide equipment control logic and flow in normal production operations.
  • Performance Improvement: Take the lead role in the team to achieve performance improvement targets, including equipment reliability and capability improvement, process yield, cycle time, uptime, and lowest cost operation.
  • Project Participation: Participate in process equipment and automation projects, including new technology migration, hardware and software specification, design, fabrication, installation, and testing.
  • Advanced Automation: Develop advanced PLC, HMI, integration, and automation skills per project need.
  • Design Change Management: Manage design changes and prepare procedure documents for SOP/SOS, technical reports, etc.
  • Control System Improvement: Establish control system improvement and develop the most efficient production technology.
  • Weekend and Shift Coverage: Provide weekend and shift coverage as required.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Chemical, or Physical Engineering, or other engineering-related fields.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Familiarity with Mitsubishi PLC, HMI application, equipment control system design, electrical control component application, and problem-solving skills.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Windows Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Soft Skills:

  • Sense of Urgency: Sense of urgency and creativity to handle project issues and adapt plans to meet objectives.
