Job Description


Carrier is looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Software Engineer. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for developing and executing system-level test cases for commercial HVAC and building control systems.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and execute system-level test cases for commercial HVAC and building control systems
  • Develop automation scripts to perform unit and end-to-end system testing
  • Develop strategy and execute stress and performance tests to ensure product reliability
  • Document test results and document defects into the defect tracking system
  • Suggest ways to improve process and methodologies within the test department
  • Follow good software engineering processes, including iterative development, test-driven development, unit tests, source code control, inspections, and reviews
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including development and system teams, regarding control software requirements
  • Support lab and field site real equipment testing and trouble shooting
  • Work with the global SQA team on test automation tools and approach deployment

About the Role


This position will focus on test execution of commercial HVAC and building equipment embedded control software, with opportunities for automated test execution and development. The ideal candidate will have experience in software testing environments with structured processes, solid logic, and debugging skills.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
  • Technical certification in a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in software testing environments with structured processes, solid logic, and debugging skills
  • Experience with modern defect tracking and management systems
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Test automation experience
  • Proficiency in office software and programming languages, such as Python
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
