We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lower Elementary PYP Homeroom Teacher to join our team at Western Academy of Beijing. As a member of our Elementary School, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our students.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and learning in a Lower Elementary PYP homeroom setting, working collaboratively with colleagues to develop units of inquiry and assessment strategies that align with our curriculum guidelines. You will employ an inquiry-based approach, differentiating lessons to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement engaging and challenging lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver units of inquiry that promote transdisciplinary learning.
- Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
- Contribute to the school's extra-curricular activities and participate in school development initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and students to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Recognized teaching qualification and registration.
- At least two years of experience as a full-time elementary teacher in a classroom setting.
- Experience working with students with diverse needs, including EAL, learning support, and enrichment.
- IB PYP workshop completion (preferred).
