Overview

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is a dynamic team responsible for powering the company's cloud services. As a CO+I Field Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Azure platform.

Our data center infrastructure comprises over 100 facilities worldwide, serving more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses across 90 countries.

As a successful candidate, you will be part of a global team working to ensure optimal operational efficiency, reduce high-impact incidents, and deliver cost and energy efficiency initiatives. You will also collaborate with regional and global peers to share best practices across the entire data center portfolio.

Data Center Operations
- Ensure compliance with business units and service-level policies
- Engage with teams and resources to execute tasks or projects
- Manage area-specific programs and adhere to budget requirements
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis process as necessary
- Follow safety and security policies and procedures, reporting any issues immediately

Service Delivery
- Maximize Critical Environment availability in collaboration with landlord partners
- Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Reduce CE incidents year-over-year
- Deliver cost and energy efficiency initiatives
- Support Emergency Preparedness and Response plans
- Coordinate CE audits and compliance verification
- Establish strong relationships with Engineering Groups and Landlord partners

Responsibilities
- Hold self-accountable for end-to-end service quality, completeness, and customer experience
- Participate in cross-disciplinary collaborations within the service team
