Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement import and export operations to ensure trade compliance and manage import and export operations effectively.
  2. Develop and fine-tune cross-functional team processes related to import and export operations. Coordinate internal and external teams to address operations issues or emergencies.
  3. Interface with trade compliance teams to align operations and strategies.
  4. Interface with manufacturing sites to coordinate bonded materials handbooks.
  5. Manage and cooperate with freight forwarders/agents to ensure customs release in time and on-time delivery to customers for ocean liner, air, and international express shipments.
  6. Monitor import and export KPIs, make root cause analysis, and work out corrective and preventative action plans for those falling outside of allowable tolerances.
  7. Process freight/brokerage invoices and solve invoice discrepancies.
  8. Drive continuous improvement in import and export processes, as well as IT solutions (SAP, GTS, CTM, etc.).
  9. Ensure adherence to all SOPs and controls related to Safety and Compliance.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree, minimum 5 years' experience in export & import operations for the chemical industry.
  2. Extensive knowledge of international trading and Customs legislations.
  3. Experience with IT systems used in customs and import/export operations, such as SAP, GTS, CTM.
  4. Proven ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders, also be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  5. Strong coordinating and teamwork skills.
  6. Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
  7. Process-oriented with an emphasis on implementing efficient workflows.
