Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head of English as an Additional Language (EAL) to join our Lower School team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Studies and the Head of Lower School to promote, evaluate, coordinate, and develop the aims and standards of our EAL department. They will be responsible for ensuring that students receive the highest level of support in their learning journey, setting ambitious aspirations for student achievement, and maintaining outstanding academic standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of EAL provision within the Lower School, working closely with staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Contribute to the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of all Lower School teachers to enable them to effectively support EAL learners in their classes.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Studies and the Head of Lower School to promote and evaluate the aims and standards of the EAL department.
  • Ensure that students receive the highest level of support in their learning journey, setting ambitious aspirations for student achievement and maintaining outstanding academic standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree specialized in the subject or above.
  • QTS, PGCE, GTP or other international teaching certificate.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of designing and delivering exciting, challenging, and personalized lessons.
  • Experience of leading or supporting leadership of a department or providing support to a school/department.
