TE Connectivity is seeking a highly skilled Intellectual Property Counsel to join our team in Suzhou, China. As a key member of our Intellectual Property Team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining company patent applications, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, licensing and research agreements, and intellectual property aspects of contracts and agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel TE's Automotive business unit across all levels and functions with respect to IP matters and strategy.
  • Conduct computer-based intellectual property investigations, including patent searching, and provide guidance and counseling to inventors and business personnel.
  • Manage patent portfolio-related activities, including invention identification, patent committee meetings, and overseeing global patent application preparation and prosecution.
  • Render opinions on patentability, patent validity, third-party IP risk assessment, and intellectual property enforcement and infringement matters.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and outside counsel to prepare patent application documents and respond to official actions.
  • Manage the docket and workflow for China-originated inventions, as part of the TE patent portfolio.
  • Identify training needs, advise, plan, organize, coordinate, and follow up on training programs to guide innovation and improve TE employee IP awareness.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
  • Qualified China patent attorney with at least 6 years of patent legal experience, degree from an accredited law school is desired.
