We are seeking a highly skilled Tooling Maintenance Manager to join our team at 152 Flextronics Medical Molding (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. in Baoan, Shenzhen. Reporting to the Engineering Sr. Manager, this role involves overseeing the daily work of the injection tooling department to ensure safe and effective operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the daily work of the injection tooling department.
- Ensure all tools receive normal preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Quote tooling for new NPI projects or duplicate tools of existing projects.
- Review DFM and provide comments and suggestions on the tooling point of view.
- Review and approve tooling design before steel cutting.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving for new tooling.
- Supervise all tooling manufacturing machines, CNC, EDM, W-cut, Lathe, and so on.
- Supervise, train, and lead the tool room staff to produce quality molded products in a safe and productive manner.
- Monitor the tooling manufacturing process quality and workmanship on the assembly.
- Track progress on tooling repairs and modifications.
- Work with Engineering, Production, customers, and vendors to expedite in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Support tooling buyoff activity at tool maker side with the team.
- Support tool qualification process.
- Solve tooling-related problems in mass production.
- Lead all tooling analysis and communicate to production manager how to improve quality, cycle time, and cavitation.
Requirements:
- Degrees in engineering (Mechanical, Materials Science, Plastics, etc.).
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in plastic tooling, five (5) years or more management experience.
- Basic English skills and ability to communicate with overseas customers.
- Must have experience in tooling design, fabrication, development, testing, and validation.
- Injection molding processing and tooling setup and repair experience are required.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, especially in high cavitation, high precision tooling.
- Rich experience on Tooling URS, DFM, and pFMEA.
- Proficient in UG/AutoCAD/Pro-E/Mold-Flow software and basic office software.
- Experience of medical injection mold manufacturing techniques and validation processes (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ) is preferred.
- Experience with Injection molding machinery related automation processes is preferred.
