Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Ops, Development, and Procurement teams to drive cost reduction opportunities and improve Lenovo product competitiveness.
- Identify design-to-cost opportunities on Lenovo mechanical solutions to yield cost savings for current and future Lenovo notebook computers.
- Compare supplier quotes to should-be cost estimates for variances and communicate acquisition cost opportunities to GCM's and support cost negotiations.
- Cultivate and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Lenovo's product cost structure and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to drive business growth and profitability.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or mechanical cost engineering in the notebook PC industry.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and statistics.
- Fluent in English and Chinese.
- Good knowledge of Pro-E, Auto CAD, and supply chain experience.
- Understanding of Manufacturing Value Add costs and design to 'X' (cost, service, logistics, manufacturability, etc...) experience.
- Lean six sigma expertise and PMP certification.
- Experience working in a global company.
