Senior Software Development Manager for Python Applications

Job Description:

The Senior Software Development Manager for Python Applications will provide full leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team.

This role is responsible for managing a team of software development professionals to accomplish established goals and conducting personnel duties for the team, including performance evaluations, training, hiring, and disciplinary actions. The candidate will also act as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a team of software development professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team.
  2. Oversee the process for technical issue escalation and prioritize technical issue resolution.
  3. Leverage skills across software development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications.
  4. Communicate internal and external departmental interdependence as well as cross-product and cross-project.
  5. Resolve issues using in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within software development.
  6. Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of software development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business processes, system processes, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgments.
  7. Contribute to planning, budget management, formulation of procedures, and resource planning, negotiating with external parties when necessary.
  8. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  1. 5-8 years of relevant experience in software development and management.
  2. Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
  3. Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects.
  4. Experience with dependency management, change management, continuous integration testing tools, and audit/compliance requirements.
  5. Extensive knowledge of software engineering and object-oriented design.
  6. Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  7. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
