About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Curriculum Developer and Coach to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our curriculum and supporting teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Design and Innovation:
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to design and implement an inquiry-based curriculum that promotes learning through play.
  • Develop and incorporate innovative teaching strategies, activities, and resources into the curriculum.
  • Stay up-to-date with current educational trends, best practices, and research to continuously improve the curriculum.
Teacher Coaching and Support:
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to teachers in implementing the curriculum effectively.
  • Identify areas where teachers need assistance or improvement and develop tailored support plans.
  • Model effective teaching strategies, facilitate professional development sessions, and establish peer coaching opportunities.
  • Use assessment data to plan and improve teaching and learning across the kindergarten.
Performance Management and Appraisal:
  • Work with the Principal and other leaders to ensure teachers meet performance standards.
  • Conduct or support appraisal observations and provide constructive feedback to promote professional growth.
  • Assist in developing and implementing performance improvement plans for teachers who require additional support.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with Principals, teaching teams, and external partners to ensure consistency and coherence in curriculum delivery.
  • Maintain open communication channels with staff, fostering a culture of trust, transparency, and professionalism.
Professional Development and Knowledge Sharing:
  • Organize and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their pedagogical skills.
  • Encourage teachers to engage in research, apply new ideas, and reflect on best practices to continually improve their teaching.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in early childhood or primary education.
  • Proven experience in curriculum design and development, preferably in an inquiry-based learning environment.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and empower teachers effectively.
What We Offer
