Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Optical Engineer to join our team at Corning. As a key member of our optical surface treatment team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced optical surface treatment processes, including anti-reflection (AR) and anti-glare (AG) coatings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize optical surface treatment processes, including AR and AG coatings, to meet customer requirements.
  • Design and conduct experiments to characterize and analyze optical surfaces, including thin film coatings and optical measurements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new AR/AG products and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders to resolve optical surface treatment-related issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in optical surface treatment and thin film coating technologies.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or M.S. degree in Materials Science, Optical Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in thin film coating and optical surface treatment, with a strong background in process development and optical analysis.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with PVD coating equipment, spectrometers, ellipsometry, and related tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Materials Science, Optical Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with optical coating equipment, thin film deposition, and optical characterization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of optical physics and materials science principles.
