About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer to join our team at Cummins Inc. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful integration of our products with those of our OEM partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve integration and installation issues, identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions.
  • Develop and implement technical specifications for the application of Cummins products to customer vehicles, ensuring high-performance, low-cost equipment and system solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to integrate high-quality and optimized customer solutions.
  • Provide product data and installation requirements to application engineers and OEMs, ensuring seamless product integration.
  • Make informed decisions on product selection, design, and integration, impacting OEM machine performance, optimization, and quality.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customer technical departments, serving as the primary point of contact for product technical information, product specifications, and product change notifications.
  • Utilize in-depth product, application, and market knowledge to support OEM product selection and device design.
  • Translate customer needs and customer voice into product functional requirements.
  • Act as an internal customer/market supporter during new product development programs, design audits, and product change request processes.
  • Ensure the correct application and installation of products to meet customer system requirements and environment.
  • Verify prototype machine performance to ensure installation quality and compliance with Cummins regulations.
  • Develop problem-solving solutions for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems, or services as experience is gained.
  • Independently execute established workflows and systems, developing technical or product knowledge, and participating in system and process improvements.
  • Participate in basic direct personnel management, possibly coordinating and guiding technical personnel and/or temporary student workers.
  • Promote team goals, influence workgroups, and continuously improve skills necessary for success in the role.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related STEM field. Relevant work experience, particularly in a technical role, is highly valued. Proficiency in MS Office tools is also a plus.
