Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Polymer Scientist to join our Global R&D Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing new silicone-based compositions and materials addressing the needs of our growing portfolio of adhesives, coatings, and specialty materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new silicone-based compositions and materials addressing the needs of a growing portfolio of adhesives, coatings, and specialty materials within a Global R&D Team.
  • Interface with and assist MPM's customers in China, East Asia, and SEA, translate unmet customer needs into technical requirements for the design of differentiated products addressing regional and global markets.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the patent landscape and effectively contribute to obtaining patent coverage for proprietary technology and processes.
  • Effectively manage planning, execution, and alignment of multiple projects from inception through assistance with scale-up and commercialization.

Requirements:

  • MS in Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, or Materials Science/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering with demonstrated emphasis on chemistry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the coatings industry in a product development role.
  • Acceptable oral and written communication skills in English are a must.
  • Demonstrated successful interaction with multidisciplinary teams in a product development role, as evidenced by commercial or near-commercialization products, trade, conferences, or similar technical publications.
  • Demonstrated creativity in devising innovative products resulting from close interaction with customers.
