Summarized Purpose:

May serve as a lead statistician with guidance from senior personnel to execute project statistician duties, which include the creation of analysis databases, conducting statistical analyses, and generating statistical tables, listings, and figures, while taking charge of specific tasks under close supervision; supports lead statistician on extensive, complex studies. May also hold project management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become acquainted with the activities outlined in the department's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Learn and adhere to departmental protocols for statistical analyses and programming tasks.
  • Lead a project team, organizing team meetings, managing project timelines, evaluating resource requirements, providing necessary resources, and preparing budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and maintain ongoing project documentation.
  • Engage with sponsors on all project aspects under the supervision of a senior team member.
  • Coordinate with programming and data management teams regarding database maintenance, updates, and documentation. Provide mentorship on database structures for analysis.
  • Develop or specify requirements for analysis databases.
  • Provide randomization schemes and relevant documentation.
  • Create statistical analysis plans, including specifications for tables and listings, and guide team members in its execution.
  • Program and validate statistical tables, focusing on efficacy endpoints.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and oversee the work of others involved in programming and validation.
  • Monitor project budgets in relation to project scope and proactively communicate with management regarding potential changes.

Education and Experience:

Prior experience that equips the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the role (equivalent to 1+ years).

A Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or a related discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient SAS programming skills and understanding of database architectures.
  • Able to foster teamwork in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong grasp of statistical principles and solid statistical skills.
  • Basic project management abilities demonstrated through managing multiple projects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in English.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Positive demeanor and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
