We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Supplier Manager to join our team at Philips. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing our supplier relationships and driving strategic impact through supplier strategy development.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  1. Supplier Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our suppliers' business relationships, market position, strategy, investment themes, and capabilities.
  • Manage supplier performance using the Global Supplier Rating System (GSRS) and enrich it with cross-functional stakeholder feedback and calibration.
  • Develop an aligned account strategy for the supply relationship, clearly defining areas of development such as performance, cost, and feature competitiveness improvement, relevant future business opportunities, and a contract that enables such execution.
  • Apply oversight and monitoring of agreed projects being executed in the business, securing close alignment between supplier, procurement, and business.
  • Orchestrate supplier-related activities and communication between internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent supplier approach.

  1. Supplier Performance Development and Negotiation

  • Utilize negotiation factory standards (e.g., Game Theory, Nego Booklets) and actively promote supplier development programs.
  • Implement defined negotiation roadmaps, target setting, and business reviews.
  • Encourage suppliers to share innovative ideas and/or solutions (e.g., using SPICE) and provide insights into future technology roadmaps.
  • Encourage suppliers to use LEAN approaches to co-create and deliver TCO savings opportunities (e.g., concept savings).
  • Manage competition in the supply base to secure a healthy tension between suppliers to foster cost and feature innovation.

  1. Compliance, Contract, and Risk Management

  • Conduct assessments to identify and manage critical supplier parameters on a continuous basis, covering risk, regulatory compliance, financial exposure, and related liabilities, and create corresponding mitigation and contingency plans with business continuity in mind.
  • Ensure full compliance regarding sustainability and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all contracts and RFX events are properly managed in contract and RFX management systems (e.g., source2contract), following defined processes, policies, and guidelines.
  • Manage and demand continuously improved quality from suppliers and drive clear actions to achieve this.

  1. Leadership Skills

  • Possess leadership skills to facilitate team collaboration to work effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to influence colleagues and suppliers.
  • Has experience leading teams through changes and improvements in procurement processes.
