About the Role

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Counsel / Senior Counsel – Public Sector Operations to join its team. As a key member of the Bank's legal department, you will provide legal and policy advice on public sector investment transactions, ensuring compliance with AIIB's mandate, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and policy advice on public sector investment operations, ensuring compliance with AIIB's social and environmental standards and other policy requirements.
  • Support the Bank's public sector operations, including sovereign and sovereign-guaranteed loans.
  • Participate in and lead negotiations of legal agreements, drafting and preparing various legal documents.
  • Assist with the legal aspects of project preparation, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with other multilateral development banks and development partners to further AIIB's investment operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-8 years (for Counsel) and 8-10 years (for Senior Counsel) of relevant post-qualification practice experience, preferably in a top-tier international law firm or with an international financial organization.
  • Relevant professional experience with sovereign loans and/or guarantees and loan/financing/guarantee agreements is highly desirable.
  • Excellent command of English, including drafting and negotiating legal documents.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Master's degree in law and qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
