Job Summary

HARMAN International is seeking a skilled Program Manager to lead the development of audio systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage 3-6 audio system development programs, requiring both applications and core development engineering.
  • Foster a positive environment to create a high-achieving team, treating all members with respect, encouraging constructive dissent, and re-focusing team members when they get off-track.
  • Define tasks to be performed by cross-functional teams in developing systems, using task lists to create work breakdown structures and establish program schedules.
  • Ensure prompt decision-making by promoting consensus decisions, intervening when consensus decision-making fails, and making unilateral decisions in the case of a deadlock.
  • Lead team meetings by establishing agendas, monitoring discussions to ensure adherence to agendas, tracking project open items and schedules, promoting free exchanges of ideas, and challenging pre-conceptions of team members.
  • Work with Sales, Supplier Engineering, and Design Engineering to set system cost targets and lead team meetings to discuss system cost targets.
  • Negotiate resource allocations from functional managers and resolve resource conflicts by negotiating solutions with functional managers and other program managers.
  • Identify program issues early and drive resolutions at the team level, escalating to management personnel as needed.
  • Lead globally engineered teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on quality, and under budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, hardware, software, or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of project management experience managing projects throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Auto electronic parts tech project management experience and SW management experience are preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience in relevant product development disciplines, such as engineering, technical management, quality, manufacturing, etc.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • JPN OEM customers experience is preferred.
