About Jadeclass Education
Jadeclass Education is a renowned English-language training center based in Shanghai, dedicated to providing high-quality education to young Chinese students aiming to attend universities abroad.
We pride ourselves on our carefully selected students, ranging from 6 to 16 years old, who are screened for their English level, behavior, and motivation. Our team of experienced educators helps them achieve success in both testing and adapting to a Western-style learning environment.
Our diverse program offerings include group classes in ESL, literature, creative writing, science, mathematics, social studies, and history.
Job Description
We are seeking a talented ESL/English teacher to collaborate with our existing team. This person will have experience teaching kindergarten and primary-level students.
Responsibilities
- Teach ESL/English classes from Jadeclass materials
- Maximum class size of 6 students
- Classes are 2 hours in length
- Classes are highly interactive with students evaluated in part on their participation
- Compensation is after-tax and is based on hours taught
- No office hours are required. All of our lesson materials are provided, so our part-time teachers are not responsible for any lesson planning.
- No grading is required. All grading is performed by our full-time teachers and support staff.
School Schedule
During the spring and fall semesters, we adhere to the following schedule except when government-required rescheduling occurs:
· Friday evening classes available from 16:00-20:00
· Saturday classes available from 8:00-20:00
· Sunday classes available from 8:00-20:00
Requirements
Required:
- Must be in Shanghai
- Must hold a working or student visa
- At least 1 year of prior teaching experience
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with common teaching methods and an insight into how students learn
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills
- Positive attitude with an ability to receive criticism and adapt to new methodologies
- Must be available to attend and pass two 8-hour training sessions before starting
Benefits
We offer a competitive after-tax rate of 275-325 RMB per hour of teaching, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will receive a completion bonus of 25 RMB per hour taught if no classes are missed, and paid training at 50% of the hourly rate, to be paid after the completion of the semester. Lunch is also provided on all full teaching days.
