Job Purpose

ASML, a leader in the semiconductor lithography sector, is seeking a Lead Engineer for its repair center. The core mission of this facility is to enhance sustainability by reducing waste and promoting material reuse within the circular economy. The Lead Engineer will serve as the technical authority, guiding the repair strategies for malfunctioning components.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be tasked with defining the repair approach for defective service parts. This involves a thorough analysis of the part's history, identifying the root cause of the failure, and establishing the necessary competencies for repair. Additionally, you will develop a testing and validation plan to confirm that the repaired components meet all technical specifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting inspections to assess the repairability of incoming materials
  • Performing root cause analyses on failure modes to determine the most effective repair solutions
  • Collaborating with global engineering teams to exchange knowledge and validate analyses
  • Engaging with external repair partners to devise effective repair strategies
  • Designing repair components and offering technical guidance to local suppliers for prototype development
  • Acting as the technical liaison for the sourcing department, assisting in supplier selection and qualification
  • Validating the functionality of repaired parts against specifications
  • Providing support and training to repair engineers on methodologies and testing strategies
  • Documenting resolution methods and sharing insights
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental health standards during repair processes

Qualifications and Experience

A Master's degree in technical engineering, with a specialization in electronics, mechatronics, or optics, is required.

Experience should include:

  • Over 8 years in technical engineering roles within Research & Development or Design & Engineering in a technology-driven industry
  • Collaboration with external partners to co-develop and validate technical solutions
  • Effective stakeholder management within complex organizational frameworks
  • Project management expertise
