Commodity Buyer Job Description

About the Role:

Visteon Corporation is seeking a skilled Commodity Buyer to join our team. As a Commodity Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of direct materials across all sites, ensuring effective cost and quality. This role requires strong commercial expertise, technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate prices
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet business objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications and Visteon terms and conditions
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings and supplier performance

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in cost engineering or procurement in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong market knowledge of direct products in the commodity
  • Proven track record of negotiations with suppliers and customers
  • Supplier audit performance knowledge
  • Passion for technology and investigation of undiscovered potential in design or supplier base
  • Capability to stay focused and calm in a demanding business environment
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in English (writing and speaking)
