The Financial Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of The Langham, Hefei. Reporting directly to the Corporate Finance Department, this individual will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to support business decisions. As a key member of the hotel's Executive Committee, the Financial Controller will work closely with the General Manager to achieve business goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all contracts and legal agreements, including management agreements.
- Review and approve all contracts and legal agreements entered into by the hotel.
- Safeguard all legal documents and original contracts of the hotel.
- Reporting and Budgeting
- Prepare and submit financial reports to the Corporate Office and hotel management.
- Investigate business trends and deviations to budget and last year, and provide recommendations for rectifications and/or improvement.
- Control and Audit
- Develop, implement, and maintain sound internal control systems to protect the interest of the hotel.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of internal controls to ensure compliance.
- Capital Projects
- Ensure all capital expenditure is in line with established spending guidelines and approved budgets.
- Prepare financial projections, justifications, and other documents for assessment by the Corporate Office and owner.
- Staffing
- Recruit, terminate, and manage the employment status of all staff within the Finance Department.
- Develop and maintain accurate job descriptions for staff within the Finance Department.
- Meetings
- Participate in hotel operational meetings, including daily morning briefings, Executive Committee meetings, and other relevant meetings.
- Education
- College degree in Finance or related field.
- Experience
- At least 5 years of working experience as Assistant Financial Controller or higher in the hospitality industry.
- Skills and Knowledge
- Accounting qualification and knowledge of MS Office software.
- Good command of communication in English.
