Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Product Engineer to enhance our innovative teams at 789 Mirror Controls (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.. This role is based in Suzhou, China, where you will collaborate closely with our design team located at headquarters.
Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead the design and validation processes for precision mechatronic actuators, ensuring they meet the standards for mass production. You will also provide essential technical support to our Sales and Quality teams, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical assistance to Sales during the introduction of new products at client locations.
- Collaborate with product designers to translate customer requirements into effective product solutions.
- Lead a team of Product Designers and Test Engineers throughout various projects.
- Organize and oversee the design and verification processes for smart actuators, supporting system-level validation.
- Manage comprehensive product design documentation.
- Issue and monitor product development plans in alignment with the overarching project master plan.
- Provide regular updates through oral and written reports regarding product status, risks, and planning.
- Act as a liaison in multidisciplinary product development teams, optimizing engineering resources.
- Coordinate co-development efforts with suppliers in consultation with Supply Chain Management and Supplier Quality Engineering, if necessary.
- Support local operations during the introduction of new products in the manufacturing plant.
- Guide Product Designers in analyzing issues identified at customer sites and in production, implementing engineering changes when required.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering is essential; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in mechatronics product development.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software is required.
- Knowledge of automotive quality systems such as IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ASPICE is advantageous.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in actuator development with embedded firmware.
- Background in electronics is a plus.
- Familiarity with Creo software is beneficial.
- Experience with agile methodologies, particularly using Jira software.
