About the Role

Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest standards of quality, cost, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and improve supplier processes to ensure compliance with manufacturing specifications and legal standards.
  • Lead NPI projects and components development in suppliers, ensuring process control from design concept to end of product life.
  • Ensure APQP activities related to process control are performed by suppliers.
  • Manage supplier project plans and activities to meet Caterpillar expectations.
  • Review APQP documentation, including Process FMEA, Process Control Plans, and Gage R&R.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure proper process control standards are in place and continuously monitor key manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure suppliers have adequate people, training, tooling, fixture, and equipment.
  • Monitor suppliers' adherence to PCN on a timely and cost-effective basis.
  • Develop the supply base to fulfill total requirements from Caterpillar Production System (CPS) implementation.
