About the Role

As a Global R&D Strategy Director at KONE, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's research and development strategy. This position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in technology roadmapping, innovation management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain unit strategies aligned with KONE's long-term vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Liaise with Directors and Area Management Team members to integrate strategies and activities across the business.
  • Evaluate new technologies and advise on investments.
  • Estimate costs, resources, and time required for implementing annual goals and monitor performance to ensure targets are met.
  • Oversee budgets, monitor cost-effectiveness of Solution Creation activities, and optimize resources.
  • Lead day-to-day activities of researchers, project managers, or engineers involved in devising research methods, building models, calculating test results, preparing technical specifications, setting up laboratory equipment, and designing final products.
  • Lead research and development projects, evaluate findings, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations and conclusions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the external scientific community.
  • Select and manage suppliers and vendors to ensure satisfactory service standards.
  • Direct, evaluate, and develop R&D/PCM teams to conduct research within established budgets and standards.
  • Drive a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.
