Job Title: Middle School Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Middle School Counselor to join our team at Western Academy of Beijing. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students in Grades 6 to 8, promoting their social, emotional, and academic well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual, family, and group counseling sessions to address students' needs and concerns.
  • Develop and implement academic and social-emotional programs to support students' growth and development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and mentors to integrate social-emotional learning into the curriculum.
  • Provide workshops and training for parents and staff on topics related to student well-being.
  • Work with the Admissions Department to ensure a smooth transition of students and families into and out of the school.
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to identify and support students with additional needs.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a school counselor in an international school setting.
  • Experience in designing and delivering academic and social-emotional programs in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a commitment to student-centered practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional qualifications equivalent to eligibility for registration as a School Counselor or School Psychologist in their country of origin.
  • Experience in leading professional learning and parent workshops.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
