Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is seeking highly qualified individuals to join its esteemed faculty in the field of Statistics and Data Science. ### Job Description
We are looking for exceptional candidates who can deliver high-quality research and teaching in Statistics and Data Science. Successful applicants will be expected to engage in research activities, including publications in leading journals, securing external research funding, supervising PhD students, Master's, and undergraduate student projects, as well as teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in English.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for contributing to the functioning of the department and school, applying for internal and external research funding opportunities, and developing their research and teaching portfolio. The workload in teaching and administration is comparable to other research-led universities.
### Requirements
We require candidates with a PhD degree from a reputable doctoral program. For early career candidates, we expect to recruit those with promising research and teaching potential. Candidates for Associate Professor and above should have a strong track record in teaching and academic supervision, as well as an international research profile in their fields and a successful record of research funding. Fluency in English is a must.
Desirable qualifications include experience in conducting research supported by national-level research funds, academic program design and development, supervision of PhD student projects, international professional qualifications recognized in the Financial and Insurance Industry, and membership of prestigious actuarial societies such as the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
