Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams serve as the driving force for stamping, molding, and assembly processes, ensuring optimal performance in terms of quality and output. These teams are proficient in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly methodologies, possessing in-depth knowledge of the relevant manufacturing processes. This includes the enhancement and standardization of stamping, molding, assembly, and other operations within the manufacturing setting.
The Manufacturing Engineering Teams empower TE business unit plants to achieve TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) standards, implement Centers of Excellence (COE), and Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP's). They provide guidance on tool and machine replication, modifications, and enhancements. Additionally, they are responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes and automation systems, applying these innovations to new product developments and optimizing existing products already in production.
Furthermore, the teams collaborate with Product Development to select and optimize tools for component production and determine the most suitable manufacturing strategies based on anticipated production volumes, quality standards, and manufacturing locations. They act as a liaison between engineering and production to ensure the manufacturability of new designs and facilitate smooth production ramp-ups. Moreover, they assist research and development teams in producing sample manufacturing equipment, product samples, and prototypes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Taping Process Technology: Innovate advanced cable-making processes to effectively support production and new business initiatives.
- Enhance Equipment/Process/Tooling: Lead improvement initiatives to boost production efficiency.
- Implement Cost-Saving Projects: Execute projects aimed at reducing costs while supporting production and new business development.
- Prepare SOP/ECN: Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Engineering Change Notices to support production and new cable business initiatives.
- Monitor Sample Making Programs: Oversee sample production and resolve technical challenges to support production and new business development.
- Troubleshoot Process Issues: Provide technical assistance for complex production problems to ensure effective support for production and new business initiatives.
Qualifications:
- College diploma in engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cable manufacturing.
- Proficient in resolving critical issues and stabilizing processes using tools such as 6M, DOE, and SPC.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating integrity and accountability.
- Proficient in reading and writing in English.
