About the Role:

Yantai Huasheng International School is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Teacher to join our dynamic community of students, teachers, and parents committed to learning and growing. As an Elementary Teacher, you will be responsible for providing overall leadership in your classroom, planning and executing all programs necessary to fulfill the school's learning expectations for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop weekly lesson plans to achieve student learner outcomes, course objectives, and standards and benchmarks as stated in curricular documents.
  • Maintain proper classroom discipline, addressing minor problems personally and referring major issues to the principal.
  • Create a positive, nurturing class environment that fosters student growth and development.
  • Implement instructional technology, audio-visual materials, class projects, and other methods to enhance learning.
  • Adapt strategies for working with second language learners, utilizing SIOP techniques.
  • Use differentiation to meet the needs of students, including those with learning differences.
  • Assign homework that supports learning and aligns with the school's expectations and goals.
  • Attend and participate in teacher meetings, some evening programs involving students, annual teacher conferences, and other meetings as assigned in the teacher handbook.
  • Hold help classes after school as needed.
  • Complete paperwork, including beginning, mid-year, and end-of-year goal forms, mid-quarter grade reports, report cards, inventory of classroom equipment and supplies, end-of-year debriefing evaluation form, administration of achievement tests, accreditation paperwork, and other assigned tasks.
  • Clean or repair buildings or classrooms, tend to the overall appearance of the classroom, assist in maintaining facilities' cleanliness and organization, and promptly report repair needs to the administration.
  • Plan parties at designated holidays and be available to parents or students who wish to have a conference during or after school.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is ¥150,000 - ¥200,000 per year, depending on experience. Other benefits include airfare, health insurance, housing, pre-field and on-field cultural training, monthly salary, tuition for children, eligibility for a paid Master's degree program when a second contract is signed, language tutoring, and more.
